Lahore High Court, Lahore issued decision regarding granting the benefit of 17-A Rule of the Punjab Civil Servants (Appointment and Conditions of Service) Rules, 1974 that appointments under Rule 17-A shall be made on regular basis. Government has changed its policy qua mode of recruitment from contract to regular. Besides, this Court in the above-noted judgments has already declared the contract employment under Rule 17-A of the Rules, 1974, without lawful authority. More so, the Government has introduced an Ordinance, 2019 whereby all the contract employees completing their three years' service, have been allowed to be regularized. Pakistan Electronic Media, Regulatory Authority, Islamabad issued a letter regarding Appearance of Senator Hafiz Hamdullah Saboor on TV Channels. The National Database & Registration Authority (NADRA) vide its letter dated October 11. 2019 has conveyed that Senator Hafiz Hamdullah Saboor is "confirmed Alien" as he is not a citizen of Pakistan. Therefore, NADRA vide its orders U/S 18(1) & 17(2) has cancelled and digitally impounded the CNIC issued to Mr. Hafiz Hamduallah Saboor. Since, it is established that the said person is an alien', therefore, all the TV channels (News & Current Affairs) are directed to refrain from inviting and projecting Mr. Hafiz Hamdullah Saboor in their programmes / talk shows, news etc. This issues with approval of the competent authority.
