PROHIBITION OF PROMOTION OF VALENTINE'S DAY CELEBRATION ON TV CHANNELS

Pakistan Electronic Media Regulatory Authority Islamabad issued a letter to all Satellite TV Channels, FM Radio Licensees and Distribution Service Licensees regarding prohibition of  promotion of Valentine's Day celebration on all the TV channels in view of the directive of the Hon'ble Islamabad High Court in the matter of writ petition No.541/2017 titled "Mr. Abdul Waheed vs Federation of Pakistan, Etc."
The letter written is as under:-

               Please refer to order of the Hon'ble Islamabad High Court, Islamabad dated 13.02.2017 in the subject writ petition. The operative para is reproduced hereunder:

              "...In the meanwhile, respondents are directed to ensure that nothing about the celebration of Valentine's Day and its promotion is spread on the Electronic and Print Media. No even shall be held at official level and at any public place. Chairman, PEMRA is directed to ensure that all the TV channels shall stop the promotion of Valentine Day, forthwith."

2.             The above mention orders of the Honorable Islamabad High Court, Islamabad are still in field. Therefore, all the Broadcast Media and Distribution Services Licensees are advised to desist from promoting Valentine's Day through their respective channels / networks.

CLARIFICATION REGARDING CHANGE OF PROFESSION IN PASSPORT

Government of Pakistan, Directorate General, Immigration & Passports (Headquarter) issued Clarification regarding Change of Profession in Passport. In continuation of this Directorate General circular of even number dated 11-03-2019. COUNTER SIGNATURE ON PERs OF TEACHING STAFF AND THEIR UPLOADING ON SIS
