FITNESS OF SCHOOL VANS

Government of the Punjab, School Education Department issued a letter regarding fitness of school vans  or illegal / unfit cylinders installed inside the body of vans.

  • I am directed to refer to the subject noted above and to state that Chief Traffic Officer, Lahore vide No.13238/CTO/PSO, dated 15-10-2019, has approached this department stating that while considering the past incidents of Cylinder blasts in school vans, in which number of precious lives of school children were lost. After probing the reason, it was observed that all such incidents occur due to improper fitness of school vans or illegal/unfit cylinders installed inside the body of vans. (Copy enclosed).
  • It has been further conveyed that all the Public and Private Schools may be directed to seek fitness certificates from all the owners of Private School Vans engaged in pick & drop of children, in order to ensure proper safety measure for the student's.
  • It is, therefore, requested to issue necessary directions to all the Chief Executive Officers, (DEAs), in Punjab, to disseminate the information to field formations for strict compliance, in all Public as well as Private Schools so as to ensure safety of school children, under intimation to this department.
