BAN ON ALL KINDS OF LEAVE


Directorate General Pakistan Post Islamabad issued a circular regarding Ban on All Kinds of Leave.

  • The Pakistan Post Office Department is currently undertaking a number of initiatives and ventures for its Financial and Operational uplift under the guidance / direction of the Federal Minister for Postal Services. These assigned tasks demand consistent human efforts, whereas, the PPOD is facing shortage in terms of human resources, as thousands of posts are lying vacant due to non-recruitment since long. Thus, in order to meet the assigned targets and accomplish the tasks within the given timeline, we have to utilize the available pool of human resource optimally and efficiently, 
  • In view of above, the Director General, PPOD has been pleased to ban all kinds of leave during the next three months, except maternity leave and on extreme emergency grounds. Further casual leaves shall be allowed maximum upto 02 days at a time to any officer official of the department.
  • All the heads of Circles / Regions / Offices are therefore directed to ensure compliance on the above instructions in letter and spirit.

TIME SCALE UP-GRADATION TO NEXT HIGHER SCALE OF OFFICERS OF PITC

  Managing Director, Pakistan Electric Power Company (PVT.) Limited (PEPCO) issued an office order regarding time scale upgradation of officers of PITC from BPS-19 to BPS-20. SUPREME COURT OF PAKISTAN DECISION - SALARY OF ANY EMPLOYEE CANNOT BE WITHHELD AS A PUNISHMENT

The Supreme Court of Pakistan issued an order / decision of writ regarding withholding the salary of employees as punishment. We have partly heard the learned Counsel for the Appellants and the learned Law Officers. We are informed that in certain parts of Balochistan, the salaries have not been paid to the teachers for the Iast 3 o 4 months. The Deputy Secretary, Education Department, present in Court, states that a detailed report will be filed by the department in this respect before the next date of hearing. However, we make it clear that salary of an employer cannot be withheld as a punishment and if a person is found guilty of the misconduct as contemplated under the Balochistan Civil Servants Act / Rules, the department shall proceed.
