GRANT OF UTILITY ALLOWANCE TO THE OFFICERS POSTED IN CIVIL SECRETARIAT

Government of the Punjab, Finance Department issued a letter regarding Grant of Utility Allowance to the Officers (BS-17 to BS-19) and four Members (Inquiries), S&GAD posted in Punjab Civil Secretariat. 


The Governor of the Punjab has been pleased to grant Utility Allowance w.e.f 01.01.2019 in favour of the officers of BS-17 to BS-19 as well as four Members (Inquiries), S&GAD posted in the Punjab Civil Secretariat and drawing their salaries from the pay rolls of their administrative department at the following rate:
  • BS-17 - Rs.15000/- pm
  • BS-18 - Rs.20000/- pm
  • BS-19 - Rs.25000/- pm
  • Member (Inquiries) S&GAD - Rs.30000/- pm

The Utility Allowance will be paid on monthly basis alongwith salary. Private Secretaries (BS-17) and Superintendents (BS-17) shall be entitled to the Utility Allowance as per this Departments letter No.FD.SR-I/9-14/2002(P) dated 31.01.2017.

Utility Allowance will be admissible subject to the following conditions:
  • The officers / officials of Punjab Civil Secretariat Departments on deputation or posted by transfer outside the Secretariat including attached departments, field formations and autonomous bodies will not be entitled to this allowance.
  • Secretariat employees during extra ordinary leave, study leave, leave on full or half pay for 120 days or more, training abroad or under suspension will not be entitled to this allowance.
  • It shall not be treated as part of emoluments for the purpose of calculation of pension / commutation and recovery of house rent.

GRANT OF ADDITIONAL CHARGE ALLOWANCE

Government of the Punjab, Finance Department issued clarification regarding grant of additional charge allowance. I am directed to refer to this Department's circular letter No.FD.SRII.2-38/70, dated 17.03.1988, on the subject cited above and state that following questions have arisen about the subject matter: Whether additional charge allowance for more than one posts can be granted to the same officer? Whether additional charge allowance against a post lower in status than the incumbent post-of the officer, holding the charge, can be allowed?  The case has been examined in the Finance Department. TIME SCALE UP-GRADATION TO NEXT HIGHER SCALE OF OFFICERS OF PITC

  Managing Director, Pakistan Electric Power Company (PVT.) Limited (PEPCO) issued an office order regarding time scale upgradation of officers of PITC from BPS-19 to BPS-20.
