CLARIFICATION REGARDING THE PAYMENT OF PENSION TO DIVORCED DAUGHTER

Government of the Punjab, Finance Department issued a clarification regarding payment of pension to divorced daughter.



Query of AG Office No.1:- The date of commencement of pension to divorced daughter will be commenced w.e.f the date of issuance of above said notification or otherwise.

Reply by Finance Department:- The date of commencement of Family Pension to divorced daughter will be w.e.f the date she was divorced.

Query of AG Office No.2:- Family pension cases which have been closed after the death of Government servant or his widow due to non entitlement of other family member beyond the period of 10 years or unexpired portion of pension whether these cases of divorced daughter are opened or not. If yes then date of commencement of pension may be confirmed.

Reply by Finance Department:-  The family pension cases which were closed after death of civil servant or his widow due to non-entitlement beyond 10 years or unexpired portion of ten years will be opened from the date of divorce.

Query of AG Office No.3:- In case of death of government servant no other family member was entitled for grant of family pension but after some period daughter of government servant becomes divorcee whether divorced daughter is entitled for family pension or not.

Reply by Finance Department:-  In case of death of government servant no other family members was entitled to pension but after some period if daughter of a government servant becomes divorced she is fully entitled to pension with effect from the date of divorce.

Query of AG Office No.4:- So many cases are being received after the issuance of notification for grant of family pension to widow / divorced daughter but there are children's of widow / divorce daughter having the age of more than 24 years (30 to 40 years), in these cases no question is to be arisen for dependency on parents as she is depending upon her children, in these cases family pension is admissible or not.

Reply by Finance Department:- In this scenario family pension is not admissible to widowed / divorced daughter as in the presence of their children holding job no question of dependency widowed / divorced daughter on their parents arises.

CIVIL SERVANTS EFFICIENCY AND DISCIPLINE RULES 2020

  Government of Pakistan, Cabinet Secretariat (Establishment Division) made Civil Servants Efficiency and Discipline Rules, 2020.  Prime Minister approved to make the following rules:-  1.
