CIRCULAR REGARDING OPENING OF CHEVENING SCHOLARSHIP 2019-20 UK GOVERNMENT'S GLOBAL EDUCATION PROGRAMME

Government of the Pakistan, Finance Division (Quality Assurance-I Section) HRM Wing issued a Circular regarding opening of Chevening Scholarship 2019-20 of UK Government Global Education Programme, funded by the Foreign and Commonwealth Office (FCO) and partner organizations.


Detail of Circulare:-

The British High Commissioner, Islamabad vide letter dated 20.08.2018 has informed that application window is open for 2019-20 Chevening Scholarship for UK Government's prestigious global Master's Programme. Chevening Scholarships are the UK Government's global education programme, funded by the Foreign and Commonwealth Office (FCO) and partner organizations.

The scholarship offers an opportunity for mid career professionals who want to study a one-year Master's degree at any of the UK's leading universities. The scholarships are awarded to outstanding individuals across a wide range of fields. It is aimed at people who could go to be future leaders of Pakistan. The programme provides a unique opportunity for these future leaders to build a global network of professional significance and also to establish social, cultural, academic or commercial partnerships with the UK.

Applications for the Chevening Scholarship Programme are submitted online at www.chevening.org and the deadline for receipt of application by the sponsoring agency is 12:00GMT on 6th November, 2018. Applicants should read the online guidance and show how they meet the Chevening selection criteria before submitting an application. If they have further questions about the programme they can use "contact us" function on the above website.

Eligibility Criteria:-
To be eligible for a Chevening Scholarship, a candidate must:-
  • Be a citizen of a Chevening eligible country and be intended to return there after studies.
  • Hold a degree that is equivalent to at least an upper second class honors degree in the UK.
  • Have completed at least two years work or equivalent experience before applying for a Chevening Scholarship.
  • Be able to meet the Chevening minimum English language requirement.
  • Be able to obtain the correct visa and receive an unconditional offer from UK universities.
Interested officers of Finance Division who fulfill the given eligibility criteria and other requirements may furnish their nomination duly recommended by the AFS / Head of the Wing concerned along with FTC proforma to QA-I Section by 05.10.2018 for issuance of NOC before applying online.

Note:- "In addition to the eligibility criteria specified for a training, all officers who are wokring on contract bases / fixed pay package or having less than two years continuous government service or less than three months of service in Finance Division or against whom disciplinary proceedings/ inquiry is in progress may need not to apply."

GRANT OF ADDITIONAL CHARGE ALLOWANCE

Government of the Punjab, Finance Department issued clarification regarding grant of additional charge allowance. I am directed to refer to this Department's circular letter No.FD.SRII.2-38/70, dated 17.03.1988, on the subject cited above and state that following questions have arisen about the subject matter: Whether additional charge allowance for more than one posts can be granted to the same officer?
